Subject: Fantastic Show!!
This is by far my favorite source on the archive for this date. The Bird Song is one of my favorites from any era.

Subject: Another sweet show from a sweet tour
After Hampton and the last night of Jersey (RIP Adam Katz, you are remembered), I'm sure everyone was hoping for another breakout. Instead, we got a Shakedown Street (the one I thought I'd get in Hampton.....lol). Jerry wrecks the words, but it's got a great Jam. Bird Song is another well jammed highlight. Jerry's excitement over his new midi rig translated into some spacy and inspired playing in '89. A really nice second set too. Nothing earth shattering, in terms of the setlist, but an awesome Terrapin, sweet Black Peter, and spirited US Blues to end the night. Of the seven shows of this tour I was lucky enough to attend, there wasn't a bummer in the bunch.
